LDT works with individual schools  to create long-term in-school dance residencies designed to suit the academic needs of the students while incorporating the pedagogical requirements stated by the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards for Visual and Performing Arts. LDT has adapted a curriculum for 2nd-5th grade written by Young Audiences of New Jersey (originally created via a grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation) called Dance to Learn, that includes professional development and assessment tools with comprehensive lesson plans.  A creative dance curriculum, Dance to Learn empowers students and teachers to fully engage in the process of movement exploration and encourages integrated learning by investigating dance’s relevance to languate arts, social studies, math, science, and wellness concepts.  Residencies include a professional performance by LDT and typically last from 8 – 16 weeks, but can be adapted for shorter periods of time.
