Stephanie Salts began dancing in her hometown of Beckley, West Virginia. At fifteen, she received a scholarship to attend The Rock School of Dance Education and then continued her training with Summer Lee Rhatigan at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. Stephanie has danced with Utah Regional Ballet, Robert Dekker’s Post:Ballet, and Mark Foehringer and the Oakland Ballet where she had the pleasure of dancing the role of Marie in Graham Lustig’s The Nutcracker as well as works by Robert Moses and Amy Siewert. Now in her fourth season with LDT, audiences have seen her as Klarah in A Jazzy Nutcracker, Invisible Fields, Wingéd, Appasionato, North Star, Oblivion, Six Pianos, Fanfare, Shake Down the Stars, and a very memorable monkey in Jangala. As an emerging choreographer, she has performed her first evening length work entitled Weee-Oooo, We You for the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance Summer Series and has been invited to return with t new work. Her short film, A Day in the Life, has been selected to premiere at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival in November of 2014.
