Rachel Schatz, born in St. Louis, Missouri, began her dance studies with Nathalie LeVine and with Gen Horiuchi at the Saint Louis Ballet.
In 2005 she relocated to New Jersey and joined the Princeton Ballet School where she performed the roles of Queen of the Dryads in Don Quixote and Odette in Swan Lake.
Rachel has received scholarships for training in summer programs at The Washington Ballet School, Orlando Ballet and most recently the Nashville Ballet. Upon graduation from high school, Rachel was appointed a company apprentice with the American Repertory Ballet under the direction of Graham Lustig.
During that time she performed in Twyla Tharp’s Baker’s Dozen and the role of Spanish and German in Graham Lustig’s The Nutcracker, and The Mother in A Midsummer Nights Dream. Rachel is thrilled to be a part of lustigdancetheatre.
