Justin D. Melvin

Justin Melvin HeadshotJustin D. Melvin grew up in Newark, NJ and began his classical dance training at Arts High School under the direction of Ronnie D. Carney and Kim Richardson.

In conjunction with that dance training, he studied at the Ailey School, Joffrey Ballet, and American Ballet Theater’s summer intensives in Bermuda.  Justin received his B.F.A. Degree in Dance from The University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the direction of Ethan Stiefel.

While at UNCSA, he performed with the Jose Limon Dance Company and other works by Mark Morris, Lar Lubovitch, Larry Keigwin, George Balanchine, Merce Cunningham, and Donald McKayle.

Since graduating, Justin was featured in the REVERB Choreographic Project and will be featured this year with the Mark Morris Dance Group in the Hard Nut and with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet in Orpheo ed Euridice choreographed by Mark Morris.
